Day 1 – Bucharest
Arrival at Bucharest International Airport; meet and greet – transfer to hotel for accomodation; walking guided discover tour and dinner (if flight schedule permits).
Day 2 – Bucharest – Sinaia – Bran – Brasov (240 km)
After breakfast, city tour of the capital, incl. famous open air Village Museum or People’s House (the 2nd largest building after the Pentagon); departure to Sinaia resort, across the Carpathian Mountains; visit the famous Peles Castle, the former residence of royal families or (if closed) Sinaia Monastery (1695) (time for lunch); drive to Bran to visit Drakula’s Castle; continue to Brasov (former Kronstadt); dinner in a typical restaurant and accommodation.
Day 3 – Brasov
Breakfast; city tour of Brasov, which its medieval charm, incl. Black Church (14-15th century) the picturesque Schei quartier with the first Romanian school (time for lunch); dinner and accom.
Day 4 – Brasov – Sighisoara – Tg.Mures (270 km)
Breakfast; departure to Sighisoara, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler “Drakula”; visit the medieval citadel, incl. Tower Clock (time for lunch); continue to Tg.Mures; panoramic visit of the city followed by dinner and accommodation.
Day 5 – Tg.Mures – Cluj-Napoca (120 km)
Breakfast; short visit of the town of roses, incl. the Palace of Culture; drive to Cluj-Napoca – old name Siebenburger (time for lunch); city tour, including National Art Museum, St.Michael Cathedral; dinner and accommodation.
Day 6 – Cluj-Napoca – Alba Iulia – Sibiu (190 km)
Breakfast; visit of Botanical Garden; departure to Alba Iulia: panoramic visit of the fortress and the Cathedral – the city of the great union of all Romanians at Dec.1st 1918 (time for lunch); continue with a short stop at Sibiel, to visit its largest collection of glass icons; dinner and accommodation in Sibiu.
Day 7 – Sibiu – Curtea de Arges – Bucharest (300 km)
Breakfast; tour of the medieval city (Great Square, Evangelique Church, Bridge of the Liars, The Council Tower); visit of Bruckenthal Museum with its fine collection of paintings, engravings, ethnography – folklore, old furniture and musical instruments(time for lunch); drive along the pictoresque Olt Valley to Bucharest via Curtea de Arges, the old capital of Walachia; visit the Episcopal Church, where Romanian Kings are buried; farewell dinner and accommodation.
If the flight schedule permits, individual visit of Bucharest; transfer to the airport.
